Unexpected bounty

Shetland Black and Highland Burgundy potatoes

To my ‘shame’ I appear to have left quite a few of last year’s potatoes in the ground – mainly Shetland Black. And because I haven’t needed the space I left them to do their thing. So I got an early June bonus bucket of potatoes, benign neglect paid off. In my slight defence Shetland Black are quite hard to find in black soil, they look like dark sea rounded pebbles.

Melanoselinum decipiens

A couple of the pots of seed that didn’t germinate inside earlier on this year have been left outside my kitchen window in the shade, the Melanoselinum decipiens has been appreciative of this treatment, and two Cenolophium denudatum also decided to appear,  no Berkheya cirsiflora tho’.
